Este poema data del sigloXIII demostrativa de los pensamientos libres. Freidank (Bescheidenheit, 1229)

diu bant mac nieman vinden,

diu mîne gedanke binden.

man vâhet wîp unde man,

y  Walther von der Vogelweide (joch sint iedoch gedanke frî ^[3] – Los pensamientos son ligualmente libres ).

En  1780  se imprimió por primera vez, en hojas sueltas. Entre 1810 y  1820 se le puso una melodía y la canción se publicó en un libro de canciones: „Lieder der Brienzer Mädchen“ en Berna . En el año  1842  se ensambló  con las canciones populares„Schlesische Volkslieder“ de Hoffmann von Fallersleben y Ernst Richter .
